Revelation Chronology

I Believe the events in the Book of Revelation will happen in the order Revelation describes them.  That is the Key to my Understanding of Bible Prophecy.  With The Rapture happening in The Middle of it all.

The lain reading of the Book of Revelation, without presuppositions, is that showing is being shown a sequence of events.  People making analogies like "being shown several monitors in the control room of heaven" are causing unnecessary confusion.

This Blog was formally called MidSeventiethWeekRapture (and that's still the URL because I don't want all the existing links to die) but I changed because I'm no longer convinced the 70th Week of Daniel is eschatological.  But I do still feel Revelation 11-13 on their own demonstrate a 7 year time period, with The Rapture/Second Coming at the Midway Point.

Remember that even the verse divisions were not in the original text, much less chapter divisions.  And in the unique case of this book, when looking at it in Greek, almost every verse begins with the same word, Kai.  A Greek word that means "and then", though how it's translated doesn't always make that clear.  It's clearly defining what's happening there as following what happened before.  The few exceptions are mostly places where the verse division was in the middle of someone talking.

Posts where I talk about this include.

  1. Hello Jared Mithrandir:

In reply to your comments on my website (rapturetheoryanew.com): It is amazing to me how people like you and I who devote so much time and sincere effort seeking the truth about biblical end-times prophecy can come to such a wide range of conclusions on that subject.

Even though I have devoted much of the last twenty one years to studying, writing about, and teaching end-times prophecy, I do not claim to have all the answers. I like to study other people’s views, compare them to my views, and see how they stack up against what the Bible says. I also like to exchange views with others as long as there is mutual respect for one another. There is no place for anger between true Christians, even when debating prophecy.

I am sure it is God’s will that we study His Word the Bible including prophecy of future events. However, apparently He does not want it to be easy for us to understand it because of all the symbolic and figurative language. I have found biblical confirmation for some of the symbolic and figurative meanings. You can find some of those in my website post under the heading (1) Studying Biblical Eschatology, Part I. In that same post and in my post (8) The Events of the Trumpets and Vials, Part I, you can find some of my views on chronology.

You asked where I discussed the 42 months of Revelation 13. You can find some of my views on those 42 months beginning in (1) Studying Biblical Eschatology, Part I under the subheading Symbolic Periods of time and (18) The Seventieth Week of Daniel, Part IV. After studying this, if there is any doubt when those 42 months will occur, further evidence is that in Revelation 13:5 “forty and two months” is followed by the beast (the false Christ) committing the abomination of desolation in verse 6.

Keep up the good work, stay in communication, and perhaps we both can learn more by doing so. God bless you and your efforts.

    1. The reason it seems so Confusing is because people refuse to take the Chronology at face value. The Book defines itself as being what clarifies everything. It's not supposed to be difficult to understand.

The Abomination clearly begins the 42 months. And Israel 1260 days in the Wilderness can't begin until after the Seventh Trumpet.
